MEDICAL BILLING ANALYST​
​
Kids Thrive Therapy is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Medical Billing Analyst to support our pediatric occupational therapy team. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of insurance and billing operations and authorizations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to manage multiple administrative and billing-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Insurance & Benefits Verification:
-
Verify new patient insurance coverage and benefits and identify accepted CPT codes for each client by contacting insurance companies directly and through various platforms
-
Update and maintain specialized reports (ex. master insurance list, max out-of-pocket (OOP) list, deductible updates, etc.)
-
Input patient insurance details into EMR
-

Authorizations:
-
Manage, request, and follow up on insurance authorizations for therapy services
-
-
Billing Management & EOBs:
-
Oversee accuracy and timeliness of billing, ensuring correct recording and submittal to insurance
-
Review therapist HCIF to ensure appropriate billing prior to submitting
-
Manage accounts receivable (AR) follow-up, resolving billing issues with insurance companies
-
Analyze billing trends and discrepancies, providing data to management
-
Enter Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) into the EMR
-

Support & Communication:
-
Interface with therapists for questions related to billing, insurance, CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, and visit limits
-
Collaborate with front desk and billing team to ensure smooth workflow and optimal patient care support
-
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or coursework in medical billing/coding, finance, accounting, or related field preferred
-
Preferred 2+ years of experience in medical billing accounts receivable
-
Knowledge of CareFirst, insurance processes, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and EOB interpretation
-
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR), especially Ensora/Fusion, is highly desirable
-
Strong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
-
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment

Schedule & Compensation:

40 hours
-
$23-26/hour pending experience

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Our OT's provide direct client care in an exciting, state of the art, outpatient pediatric environment with opportunities for interdisciplinary coordination to maximize child outcomes.
​
Responsibilities:
​
-
Provide assessment and treatment for children with functional limitations or impaired participation in daily roles and routines due to emotional, physical, cognitive, or behavioral barriers
-
Monitor and assess client progress through data-driven measures and functional outcomes
-
Utilize evidence-based practice, best practice guidelines, and clinical reasoning to drive treatment planning
-
Convey evaluation results and client progress to caregivers and other community members (i.e. pediatricians, psychologists, school team, counselors, other rehab professionals, etc.)
-
Provide organized, timely, and thorough documentation and billing in accordance with professional and payor requirements
-
Contribute to a clean and healthy environment
Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university
-
Active Maryland OT licensure in good standing and National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy
-
At least 1 year of experience as an occupational therapist working with pediatric population
-
Strong ability to build rapport with clients and caregivers
-
Passion to help and motivate others
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, desire to work as part of a clinical team
